Last updated: October 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes the rules governing the processing of personal data in connection with the use of the HouseRoutines mobile application, the houseroutines.com website and related services.
We want the scope of personal data processed by HouseRoutines to remain limited to what is necessary for the features you use.
1. Data Controller
The controller of personal data is:

53-235 Wrocław
Poland
Tax ID (NIP): 8943260405
hereinafter referred to as “HouseRoutines”, “we”, “us” or the “Controller”.
For matters concerning privacy and personal data, you can contact us at:
2. What HouseRoutines Is
HouseRoutines is an application designed to help users organise their homes and household responsibilities.
The application may allow users to:
- create a household,
- add rooms and household assets,
- create and schedule household activities,
- mark activities as completed, skipped, snoozed or no longer needed,
- maintain a history of completed activities,
- use recommendations related to home maintenance,
- share a household with other people,
- send household invitations,
- use reminders and notifications.
A HouseRoutines user account is intended for persons aged 18 or older.
3. What Data We Process
The scope of data processed depends on how you use HouseRoutines.
3.1. Account Data
In connection with creating and using an account, we may process:
- your email address,
- your internal user identifier,
- information related to authentication,
- the date your account was created and updated,
- technical information related to sign-in.
HouseRoutines uses authentication based on a code sent to your email address. We do not store a HouseRoutines password for you.
3.2. Household Data
When using the application, you may create and store information about your household, including:
- the household name,
- the type of home or apartment,
- the number of floors,
- rooms,
- room names,
- household assets and devices,
- home configuration.
This information may indirectly relate to a user, so we treat it as data associated with the account and household.
3.3. Activities and Household History
We may process information relating to activities created or performed in HouseRoutines, including:
- activity name,
- description or notes,
- assignment to a room or asset,
- frequency,
- planned due date,
- estimated duration,
- activity status,
- information about completion, skipping or snoozing,
- completion history,
- the person assigned to the activity.
This data is needed so the application can maintain household history and calculate future activity schedules.
3.4. Household Member Data
A user may add other people to a household.
In such a case, we may process:
- a first name,
- nickname or other label entered by the user,
- household membership,
- assigned activities,
- history of activities completed by that person.
A household member does not have to have a HouseRoutines account.
Please provide only the information necessary to use the application. In most cases, a first name or nickname is sufficient.
If you add data about other people, you should only do so to the extent relevant to organising your own household and should not enter information in a way that may infringe their rights.
3.5. Children as Household Members
HouseRoutines is not intended for independent use by children, and persons under the age of 18 should not create a user account.
A user may, however, create a household profile or label relating to a child, for example by entering the child's first name or naming a room “Daughter's room”.
In such a case, we process only the information entered by the user.
We do not ask for:
- a child's date of birth,
- school or preschool information,
- health data,
- the child's precise location,
- other information requiring special protection.
3.6. Household Invitations
If a user invites another person to a household, we may process:
- information identifying the household to which the invitation relates,
- the invitation identifier or token,
- information needed to associate the invitation with the appropriate household member,
- the creation date and expiry date of the invitation,
- information about whether the invitation was used.
An invitation link should be treated as confidential and shared only with the person for whom it is intended.
3.7. Notifications
If you enable notifications, we may process:
- the device token used to send notifications,
- device type,
- technical information needed to deliver notifications,
- reminder settings.
Notifications may relate, for example, to scheduled activities or task summaries.
You can disable notifications in your device operating system settings and, where available, in HouseRoutines settings.
3.8. Technical and Security Data
When using the application and its infrastructure, certain technical information may be processed automatically, including:
- IP address,
- date and time of connection,
- device and operating system information,
- application version,
- technical session identifiers,
- server logs,
- request error information,
- information necessary to provide security and prevent abuse.
We do not currently use this data to create advertising profiles.
4. Information That Should Not Be Stored in HouseRoutines
HouseRoutines is not intended for storing:
- medical records,
- health information,
- information concerning a person's sex life,
- political opinions,
- religious or philosophical beliefs,
- biometric data,
- genetic data,
- identification document numbers,
- payment card details,
- passwords for other services,
- other special categories of personal data.
Text fields such as an activity name or notes allow users to enter their own content. Please avoid including sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary.
5. Visibility of Data to Other Household Members
HouseRoutines allows households to be shared.
People belonging to the same household may have access to information including:
- the household name,
- the list of household members,
- rooms and household assets,
- activities,
- activity assignments,
- completion history,
- information showing who completed a particular activity.
If you add information to a shared household, you should assume that it may be visible to other people with access to that household.
6. Widgets and Information Displayed on the Device
If you use a HouseRoutines widget, selected information about scheduled activities may be displayed by the operating system outside the main application screen.
Depending on your device settings, such information may also be visible to other people who have access to your phone.
We recommend that you do not place information in activity names that you would not want displayed on your device screen.
7. Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing
We process personal data only where an appropriate legal basis exists.
7.1. Providing the Service and Managing the Account
Account, household, activity, history and settings data are processed in order to provide the HouseRoutines service.
The legal basis is:
Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the user or in order to take steps at the user's request prior to entering into a contract.
7.2. Data Relating to Other Household Members
If a user enters a first name, nickname or information about another person who does not have their own HouseRoutines account, that information may be processed to provide household sharing and household organisation features.
The legal basis on the Controller's side is:
Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in enabling users to use household sharing and organisation features.
We seek to minimise the scope of such information and do not require surnames, email addresses or other additional information about people who do not have accounts.
7.3. Security and Abuse Prevention
Technical data may be processed in order to:
- protect accounts,
- detect abuse,
- diagnose service failures,
- protect infrastructure,
- prevent unauthorised access.
The legal basis is:
Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — the Controller's legitimate interest in ensuring the security of the service.
7.4. User Contact and Support Requests
If you contact us, we may process your data in order to respond and handle your request.
Depending on the nature of the contact, the legal basis may be:
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — where the contact relates to the service provided,
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — for other correspondence and the establishment, exercise or defence of claims,
- Article 6(1)(c) GDPR — where retention is required by law.
8. No Advertising or Profiling at the Date of Publication
As of the date of the latest update of this Privacy Policy:
- HouseRoutines does not display advertisements,
- we do not use advertising networks,
- we do not use the device advertising identifier,
- we do not perform cross-app tracking,
- we do not use user data for behavioural advertising,
- we do not use session replay tools,
- we do not use third-party marketing analytics tools.
If we introduce advertising, analytics or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy in advance and implement any required consent mechanisms.
9. Payments
As of the date of the latest update of this Privacy Policy, HouseRoutines is a free service and the application does not process payment or subscription data.
If a paid version or Premium subscription is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such features are launched.
10. Service Providers
We use service providers that support the operation of HouseRoutines.
Supabase
Supabase is used, among other things, for:
- user account management,
- authentication,
- database services,
- server-side functions,
- application data storage.
The core HouseRoutines project data is stored in a selected European infrastructure region.
Resend
Resend is used to send transactional messages, in particular sign-in codes.
In connection with sending such messages, the provider may process information including:
- the recipient's email address,
- message content,
- technical information relating to message delivery.
Expo
Expo services may be used for application infrastructure and the delivery of push notifications.
For these purposes, technical information associated with the device and notification delivery may be processed.
Apple and Google
Depending on the operating system, the application is distributed through:
- Apple App Store,
- Google Play.
Apple and Google process certain user data in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies.
For push notifications, technical information may be transmitted to Apple or Google infrastructure to the extent necessary to deliver the notification.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare may be used for houseroutines.com, network infrastructure, security and DNS services.
When visiting the website, the provider may process technical information, in particular your IP address and network connection information.
11. Transfers Outside the European Economic Area
Some infrastructure providers operate globally and may process certain information outside the European Economic Area.
In particular, this may apply to services provided by entities established in the United States or using infrastructure located there.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we use mechanisms provided for by the GDPR, as appropriate for the relevant provider, such as:
- European Commission adequacy decisions,
- the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework,
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission,
- additional safeguards required by law.
12. How Long We Keep Data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
In particular:
User Account
We keep account data for as long as you use HouseRoutines.
After account deletion, personal data is deleted or anonymised, subject to the exceptions described below.
Household Data
Data relating to an active household is kept for as long as that household exists in HouseRoutines.
When an entire household is deleted, data associated with it is scheduled for deletion, except for data that must be temporarily retained for technical, security or legal reasons.
Activity History
Activity history may be kept for the entire lifetime of a household because it forms part of the household's shared history.
If a user deletes their account, information showing activities previously completed by that user may remain available to other household members where this is necessary to preserve the continuity of household history.
Where justified, the person concerned may request deletion or anonymisation of such information.
Invitations
Unused and expired invitations are not kept indefinitely. They are deleted after the period necessary to handle the invitation and a short technical period needed to ensure system security.
Notification Tokens
Device tokens are stored for as long as necessary to send notifications.
Outdated or invalid tokens may be removed periodically.
Technical Data and Logs
Technical and security logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose and the configuration of infrastructure providers.
Some data may remain temporarily in backups. Backups are retained according to the infrastructure retention cycle and are not used for ordinary account processing.
Correspondence
Correspondence relating to requests may be kept for as long as necessary to resolve the matter and then for a period justified by possible legal claims or legal obligations.
13. Account Deletion
Users may initiate account deletion directly in the HouseRoutines application.
After account deletion:
- access to HouseRoutines ends,
- the authentication account is deleted,
- information associated exclusively with the account is deleted or anonymised,
- information forming part of the shared history of an active household may remain available to other household members where necessary to preserve household history.
If the deleted account is the only account belonging to a household, the household and its associated data may also be deleted.
If deleting an owner's account would leave an active household without anyone able to manage it, the application may require ownership to be transferred first.
Information about deleting an account is also available at:
houseroutines.com/account-deletion
14. Data Received From Other Users
We may hold limited information relating to a person who has not created a HouseRoutines account.
This may happen, for example, when a HouseRoutines user adds the name of a family member or another person belonging to their household.
The source of this information is the HouseRoutines user.
The scope of data will usually be limited to:
- first name or nickname,
- membership in the household,
- assigned activities,
- activity completion history.
If you believe someone has added your data to HouseRoutines and you would like information about its processing, or you want it corrected, restricted or deleted, contact us at:
15. Your Rights

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the consent was withdrawn.
To exercise your rights, contact:
We may ask for information necessary to verify the identity of the person making the request if this is needed to protect personal data against unauthorised access.

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against:
- unauthorised access,
- loss,
- accidental deletion,
- unauthorised modification,
- disclosure to unauthorised persons.
In particular, we use access-control mechanisms and data isolation between households, and we rely on infrastructure providers that provide data-protection mechanisms.
However, no information system can guarantee the complete elimination of security risks.
18. External Links and Services
HouseRoutines may contain links to services or websites operated by third parties.
Once you access such a service, its operator determines the applicable rules for processing personal data.
This Privacy Policy applies only to HouseRoutines and services provided by the Controller.
19. Automated Decision-Making
We do not make decisions concerning users that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect them based solely on automated processing of personal data.
The application may automatically:
- calculate future activity due dates,
- suggest tasks,

These mechanisms are used solely to provide application functionality and do not constitute profiling that produces legal effects for users.

The website may use technologies that are technically necessary for:
- proper operation,
- security,

We may update this Privacy Policy, in particular where:
- HouseRoutines features change,
- we introduce new services,
- service providers change,
- applicable law changes,
- we introduce payments, advertising or analytics tools.
The current version of this Privacy Policy will always be available at houseroutines.com.
